بيان صحفي حول احتجاز وتفتيش الفريق جبريل الرجوب من قبل سلطات الاحتلال

أصدر الاتحاد الفلسطيني لكرة القدم البيان التالي:

نحن ندين بشدة احتجاز وتفتيش والتحقيق مع جبريل الرجوب، رئيس الاتحاد الفلسطيني لكرة القدم (PFA) ورئيس اللجنة الأولمبية الفلسطينية (POC)، عند عودته من أولمبياد باريس.

يجب أن يكون هذا الاعتداء الإسرائيلي الأخير ضد رئيس الاتحاد الفلسطيني لكرة القدم تذكيراً بالجرائم والهجمات الموثقة التي ارتكبتها قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، بمشاركة الاتحاد الإسرائيلي لكرة القدم، ضد الرياضة الفلسطينية، مما أدى إلى مقتل المئات وإصابة العديد ونفيهم وتدمير البنية التحتية وحظر الأنشطة الرياضية.

نذكر الفيفا، واللجنة الأولمبية الدولية (IOC)، والاتحادات الأولمبية وكرة القدم الإقليمية والوطنية، وكذلك المجتمع الدولي ككل، بأن احتجاز السيد الرجوب يأتي بعد عدة تهديدات وجهت إليه بسبب جهود الاتحاد الفلسطيني لكرة القدم واللجنة الأولمبية الفلسطينية لوقف الانتهاكات الإسرائيلية ضد الرياضة الفلسطينية. ويتضمن ذلك التهديد العلني والتحريض الذي قام به وزير الخارجية الإسرائيلي إسرائيل كاتس في 2 مايو، حيث وصفه بأنه "إرهابي ببدلة"، مضيفًا "سنعمل على إحباط خططه، وإذا لم يتوقف، فسنسجنه (...)".

هذه التصرفات هي نتيجة لثقافة الحصانة غير المسبوقة التي تتمتع بها إسرائيل عالمياً، بما في ذلك في الفيفا والرياضة الدولية بشكل عام. يجب أن ينتهي هذا الأمر. ندعو الفيفا واللجنة الأولمبية الدولية إلى اتخاذ خطوات فورية لحماية كرة القدم والرياضة الفلسطينية، بما في ذلك اتخاذ إجراءات فعالة لإنهاء الانتهاكات والهجمات والجرائم الإسرائيلية ضد الرياضة الفلسطينية، ولوائح الفيفا، والميثاق الأولمبي.

Press Statement: Denouncing the Detention and Search of Jibril Rajoub

We strongly condemn the recent detention, search, and investigation of Jibril Rajoub, head of the Palestine Football Association (PFA) and the Palestine Olympic Committee (POC), upon his return from the Paris Olympics.

This latest Israeli aggression against the head of the PFA should serve as a reminder of the well-documented crimes and attacks that the Israeli occupation, with the complicity of the Israeli Football Association, have committed against Palestinian sports, resulting in the killing of hundreds, injuries, exile, destruction of infrastructure and banning of sports activity.

We remind FIFA, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), regional and national Olympic and football federations, as well as the overall international community, that the detention of Mr. Rajoub comes after several threats were made against himself due to the work of the PFA and the Palestine Olympic Committee to stop the Israeli violations against Palestinian sports. This includes the public threat and incitement made by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz on May 2nd, referring to him as a “terrorist in a suit”, adding that “we will work to thwart his plans, and if he doesn’t stop, we will imprison him (…)”.

This is a result of Israel’s unprecedented culture of impunity, including at FIFA and in international sports in general. This should come to an end. We call upon FIFA and the IOC to take immediate steps to protect Palestinian football and sports, including by taking meaningful action to end the Israeli violations, attacks, and crimes against Palestinian sports, the FIFA Statutes, and the Olympic Charter.
